Romeo And Juliet Compare And Contrast Tristan And Isolde

Tristan and Isolde Between the film and the story, Tristan and Isolde is the perfect mushy and action filled tale of all time. Both adaptations are classic tales that deliver the well-known story line for forbidden love. Without a doubt, the movie and the story are very similar to Romeo and Juliet the better known dramatic love story. Tristan and Isolde do have many difference between both medias that completely changes the original story entirely. The movie, being more of a cult classic than a major motion picture holds up to be a more lowkey loved movie than a huge hit. The movie itself did poorly with media coverage, ratings and overall exposure. Older tales, like these, I feel like usually get bad ratings. Though in my opinion I actually did not care for it either. The main part that I enjoyed form the original was taken completely out: the love potion! Without the potion, I feel like the movie delivered a sorry excuse for Tristan and Isolde. The movie became a redundant Lifetime-esque film that is understandably underrated. In the movie one of Tristan’s last lines were “you were right. I don't know if life is greater than death. But love was more than either.” This one statement summarizes the concept of the movie only. As the original Tristan did not feel true love, he was more so forced into it. “You do not know the reason for her love for me. It is because of a love potion that she loves me. I cannot part from her nor she from me. That is the truth.’’ Also said by Tristan (the original), he explains the very difference between the movie characters and he, that the only reason anything is even happening is because of what the potion did to the two and ultimately ended the twos
