Harper Lee’s novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, is about two kids, a brother and a sister, during the great depression. The brother and sister, Jem and Scout, are the kids of Atticus. There is a boy in their neighborhood who never comes out of his house. Throughout the novel Jem and Scout try to see Arthur, because they believe no one ever has; besides Arthurs parents. Atticus, the kid’s dad, is a lawyer and ends up going to court to defend a black man. When the trial is over a lot of people start to be very angry with Atticus. By comparing and contrasting the movie To Kill a Mockingbird by Robert Mulligan 1962, and the book it is clear that the novel is better than the book.
