I was prejudged when kyle told me i can't play because i am a girl and girls can't play sports and that girls can't run. Then him and his friends came and started making fun of me because i was a girl and i wanted to play football with them. And they really hurt me and i was convinced being feminine was a bad thing, I had felt horrible so i asked the staff for help . the staff pointed out a group of people that i could play with who wouldn't be

How fair can it get for girls to play on boys sport teams. Maybe because it’s not a law, everyone can play, so many other girls are playing on the same team as boys. It was never a law that girls have to play the “girl sports,” boys play the “boy sports.” In the article Should Girls be Allowed to Play on Boy’s Sport Teams? They stated that if the best of the best WNBA team goes against the worst NBA team, that the NBA team would crush the best WNBA team.…

Those are the reasons that I think that boys and girls should be in different sports. It would be ac ward if you walk onto the football field and you hit a girl so hard she cries and then you look bad for doing what you're supposed to do. It would also be weird if you were a boy…

Ladies could not always play the same games as men. In the past, women had a lower status than men. Because the men were superior, a lady’s place was in her home cooking meals, cleaning messes, and watching the children. Women fought for a chance to play sports, including basketball. These women were finally able to play the sports, but the audience thought the games to be too rough, so the rules changed.…

In sport today I believe women are treated in an unfair way to their male counterparts. Sport is controlled by the media in this century and women are looked at as sexual objects rather than for their talent like men are. The women are also then expected to wear skimpy clothing not because it’s better for the sport but because of marketing. Professional female athletes are seen as inferior to their male counterparts and therefore don’t get as much media coverage. Women athletes play the exact same games, train equally as hard, yet are still getting paid a large amount less than men.…

Should women be allowed to play on male sports teams? I think that women shouldn't be allowed to because of safety requirements, and sexaul harassment which would both be a big issue. First of all, male sports are aggressive and safety would be hard to avoid. They would have a high risk of injury, concussion rates in the last year have rose over 20%.There are many different kinds of injuries you can suffer while playing a male sport like you can overheat and pass out, you can tear your ACL or MCL or you could even overuse your body and strain it. Injuries are very hard to avoid and a male's body is built to take a lot more than a girls so our injury rates would increase if the females joined our team because the males are 30% stronger than females which means we have more muscle to protect us from injury.…

America is a free country where everyone is able to express themselves. Some girls and boys like to express themselves by playing sports, by not letting girls play boy’s sports and not letting boys play girl’s sports, you're not letting them express themselves. If a girl wanted to play baseball why wouldn’t she be able to, boys only use a smaller ball when they play baseball, or if a boy wanted to play softball, they just use a bigger ball in softball than baseball. You get hurt no matter what you play whether it football, baseball, softball, even girls basketball it shouldn’t matter. It is not a very big deal that a girl wants to play football or a boy wants to play softball they are able to make there own decisions.…

Since I was a little girl I’ve always liked sports, I like to run, sweat and have physical activities outdoors. I remember when I was in 5th grade, after school many students will play different sports, I really liked basketball and saw some boys in the afternoon playing. I stared at the boys playing for a while, they were having so much fun. They had two teams, I approached and asked them if I could play in one of the teams, they all stared at me for a minute like if I was a crazy person. One of the boys, apparently the leader of the group told me that they had a “No Girls Allowed” rule and walked away without even letting me say a word.…

This chapter on invisibility gave me a bigger insight of oppression and what is means to give unjust treatment to someone. This chapter mainly described the oppression of sexism and the impact on the gender of being a female. One of the ways I personally have ever felt oppressed was playing sports in high school. Female sports are shown to not be as popular or given the same opportunities as male sports do. My high school was also the jays for our mascot and one of the common names female sports were given was the “lady jays”.…

The sports world also needs to start recognizing the talent women have and not just the appearance of them. In most of the sports women play the uniforms reveal much more skin than in male sports. Women’s talents are often over looked more than their natural talents to play specific sports. Another reason women have a hard time playing male dominated sports is because people feel the women will be a distraction to the men. Women are often considered that they must look beautiful in order to play certain sports.…

Although women are ‘known’ for being feminine and soft, yet they can be good at sports. Nowadays in the 20th century, female discrimination continues to spread through the American society. Since women sports are not taken serious, even in today’s media. If the Women’s intercollegiate would have been exempt from the Title IX it would have stopped the process and development of women sports, the advancement of the women athletes, also as far as having no access to money, media and having discrimination toward women. If the Title IX was exempted from the intercollegiate athletics, it would have been even more difficult for women to have access to money that also belongs to them due to the fact the schools are federally funded. Since school’s athletic department main priority was to spend it on male athletics. As an example Frances Hogan she probably would not have been able to ask for money from Homer Rice to fund the trip…
