The Two Front War and the Schlieffen During World War War I, Germany under Kaiser Wilhelm II fought a two-front war Two Front War against France, Britain, Belgium, later American forces on the Western Front while,simultaneously fighting the Russians on the Eastern Front.It is important to get a basic understanding of this war. Germany at the time was what I would say a power country and had a lot of troops. Germany had been making a plan for war at the time period of 1914, later this plan became known as the Schlieffen. The problem with this is that if Germany would go to war with a country they would have to take on the other one to, so Germany focused France. It took Germany a long time to mobilise their troops and get ready to get ready because, there were so many troops. It would take six weeks or more to get to France according to Alfred. These two countries would be ready to attack each other in fifteen days, Belgium began to attack Germany when They had tried to go through Belgium. They thought that if they had eliminated France off the list that it would be easier to get rid of Russia because they could not have another country to help within the time. The German forces got thinner in troops and had been to confident in their abilities as a nation. France and Germany will be lead into 7 battles not together but against. At 1914 Russia had been able to move in because France had been going through the battles with Germany. This allowed them to get close to Germany and another reason why it was better to move in now was because of the troops being tired from the battles and how they were already losing troops from Belgium.
