Government is defined as an institutional body by which a land and its people are ruled. It protects its citizens and divides the powers that interprets laws. The government of the United States, for example is made up of the three branches. The branches are the executive, judicial and legislative. Each branch interacts with the others to ensure that none of them carries more strength than the other, yet they can also share in one another’s power, so that it will be possible for them to balance off powers against each other. Therefore, they gave the branches ways to interfere with each other’s powers. The executive and legislative branches interacts with each other more than they do with the judicial branch. The President has the power to veto laws. The veto system just stops the law but doesn’t change them and in the US Congress, the laws can still override a presidential veto. President can also play a role in making the laws, carrying them out, and executing them. The judicial branch is totally engaged with the other two branches of government. The judicial branch act as a referee and examine what each other branch is doing through a judicial review process. The judicial review is reviewed or controlled by the other branches in the same manner. Its only during the appointment of justices that the other branches have any authority. The judicial branch can also appoint the Justices by the executive branch and have to be approve by the legislative branch.
