Pillars of Success for Modern Law Enforcement Developing a vision for a career is challenging. There is a lot to consider. Two areas to consider are fundamental ideology, and a driven goal. The combination of these two ideas will assist in developing a vision for a career once a master’s degree has been completed. This essay will address how the greater social good will be impacted, both socially and industrially, once I have earned my master’s degree. This essay will also be inclusive of supporting information as it relates to the three pillars of the Colangelo College of Business,(servant leadership, ethics, and entrepreneurism), in conjunction of how the pillars relate to the Christian mission of Grand Canyon University.

Entrepreneurism, as it applies to law enforcement can be looked at in a myriad of different ways. When considering entrepreneurism in law enforcement, I ask myself the following: “What new policies, procedures, or training styles can I use to create an evolution that would better serve my subordinates, my community, and the law enforcement profession as a whole?” An example of evolution in Law Enforcement, can be seen in the response to terror attacks that have occurred on American soil since September 11, 2001. Numerous law enforcement and military personnel who possess the skill set of tactical training, have begun creating tactical training seminars providing opportunity for others learn this specialized tactical training. During these seminars, students, are generally law enforcement or military personnel. This population is attempting to further their skill set to effectively defend themselves in a high risk, critical incident. These seminars teach students lifesaving, crucial tactics that are beneficial for law enforcement and the community they, all while providing a lucrative entrepreneurship opportunity for veteran military and law enforcement
