Long time ago, woman had less rights than man however nowadays woman are respected by man. Most the author use this theme to write stories, such as“The Storm”, “The yellow wallpaper” and “The Story of a hour”. The main character of the three stories is woman and it talks about how social are not equal. All of them have pressure on their life style in their life and from society they all felt unequal from the world. Three of the stories possess similar characteristic of the background and figure .Each of them is “The storm”, “The story of an hour” and “The yellow fall paper”.
First, in “the storm” The main character is different than traditional marriage woman because usually traditional woman are work hard in their house, such as washing family’s cloth and cooking food, but she was in her house and date with another man. “She was a little fuller of figure than five years before when she married; but she had lost nothing of her vivacity. Her blue eyes still retained their melting quality; and her yellow hair disheveled by the wind and rain, kinked more stubbornly than ever about her ears and temples.” (the storm) this describes her real feeling which is to try something new and they were away for long time and when they meet again it makes them …show more content…
Whether she is in the room, she saw one woman who is similar to her. “There are hedges and walls and gates that lock, and lots of separate little houses for the gardeners and people”(The yellow wallpaper) this describes the main character doesn't have any freedom . Therefore, it was high lighted by many types of furniture in the quote of the story. “John is away all day, and even some nights when his cases are serious.” this describes big difference between husband and wife. One of them can be outside all the time, but the other has to stay in the room all
