The tone because in text 1 the tone is positive, its positive because the kids are going to be safe, and in the meantime the parents aren't gonna be with them, but they will be safe and the parents rather have hem safe and leave by themselves so the kids don't go with the government. In text 2 the tone is negative. Its negative because the parents are getting deported, and that's not something you would have to choose from, getting deported is a big thing, so the parents get deported and get separated from their kids. The parents have a choice to take their kids or leave them in the US and some parents decide to leave them for their safety. These two texts are different because they have they have different things they're talking about, but not all of it is different. The focus of these stories are way different because in The Red Umbrella the focus is on the kids and family before the kids immigrate to the US. Then in the text A Band-Aid For 800 Children the focus is on the impact on families and kids once they are in the US and the kids orphaned
