Both buildings share the similar aspect of having large columns. The Pantheon has a portico of 16 columns in the front of the building, whereas the Parthenon has many columns along the entire exterior of the building. While the Pantheon was built to tribute many gods, the Parthenon only does so for one, Athena. Athena was the patron god of Athens and so she was given particular tribute with the large statue of her in the Parthenon. Both the Pantheon and the Parthenon were built to be used as temples for each culture’s separate religious purposes.
