When she went with Bob Burkard to “check out” some houses in sale, the mother of Frank was the one who used to care of her daughter. Even though Helen was not a really expressive and cold woman, at the end she showed how she needed of her husband. The necessity of her husband was what made her taking revenge on Bob’s crime. On the other hand, in Gault’s story, Pierre, the main character, was also dependent at the beginning of his uncle Vartan. Pierre was inspired by his uncle, so that’s why he decided to follow his profession. Pierre was also the favorite nephew of Uncle Vartan, and he used to tell him that he did not regret the fact of don’t having children because Pierre was like his son.
