Linda brown of Topeka, Kansas was an african american girl who didn't agree with “separate but equal” this issue was brought to court where it was overruled and the phrase was reversed in 1954.In 1954 the Brown vs Ed case was overruled by the Supreme Court. Not only did she win the case and “reverse separate but equal” but she also got schools to desegregate and to come together as one. In 1957 nine African American students enrolled at Little Rock High School in Arkansas. Riots were caused, people got hurt, but the student's got into the school. !962 Oxford Mississippi, James Meredith was accepted to the university of Mississippi which caused several riots. He then finishes school in 1963 with a degree in political science.1964, the Civil Rights Act was signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson. This was life changing for all african americans. Blacks have been mistreated and abused since they migrated here, they were treated like property instead of human beings. Now they were finally desegregated, they can get food at places they couldn't before and drink the same water as
