Compare And Contrast The Faceless One Vs And Then There Were None

There are many differences between my book choice The Faceless Ones, author Derek Landy whom I will be abbreviating to dl and the book And Then There Were None’s author Agatha Christie whom i will be abbreviated to ac. While they both are very good authors the differences are both subtle and obvious. They are both very accomplished writers however more people will doubtless know about ac as she has been writing books for a longer period of time. One of the differences is that ac’s book and then there were none is a single book that has the job of introducing all the characters in one book in a short and shallow way. On the other hand dl has made a series where in book one he introduces all the main people and gradually shores up some of their backstories through later instalments. Even people who are dead still get additional backstory and because of that you never actually know whether or not your …show more content…
In dl’s book the murderer is only known as Batu and they are trying to find out who Batu is and find out why he is trying to kill nearly all of the teleporters. In ac’s book, you don't know who the killer is until the epilogue which makes it a guessing game the whole time as you cannot possibly find out the killer by the facts you are given. It is very fun to constantly be trying to find out the answer for the question of who the murderer is. A third difference is that the faceless ones has a few very gristly murders committed right in front of your eyes whereas and then there were none had all the murders happen where you could only see the aftermath. It is a bigger difference than you would think as the murders have a toll on the character's spirit. When you see the most physically powerful person on the planet be reduced to a ball of crushed bones and meat, it takes a lot out of you. On the other side ac’s book only showed you the corpses with the most violent being one where the man ends with an axe in his

Despite the differences in setting, the authors in both stories have a character who breaks free from restrictions to figure out and embrace their identity. This character is murdered due to their identity. “On the Sidewalk, Bleeding” and “Harrison Bergeron” differ greatly in setting, one being set on a city sidewalk in the past, and the other in a house in 2081. Both the stories show two different stages of equality in time, in the past where there were many inequalities in daily life, and in the future where everything and everyone is equal. In “OTSB”, Andy the main character wears a jacket whose “lettering across the back of the jacket read THE ROYALS,” a gang.…

Murder is a vindictive crime that has been known to happen all over the world. Although, it's an unforgiving crime society engages in the details of the manner it occurred and the thought of the reason that drove a person to commit such a crime. In 1843, Edgar Allan Poe created The Tell-Tale Heart that described a narrator sharing how he murdered his victim while trying to convince the reader of his rationality. Similarly, Roald Dahl also created the short story Lamb to the Slaughter regarding a house wife murdering her husband by virtue of him wanting to leave her. In the two short stories its evident the characters committed the same crime of murdering, however, it's conspicuous the murders had different motives and outcomes.…

There are many differences occurred in the book and the movie of A Wrinkle In Time and And Then There Were None. I believe the director changed the movie so the viewers would understand it more and so the movie won’t be 5-6 hours long. I also think that they changed it is so people would understand it more, and some of the things in the book were hard to actually do in real life and in the time the movies were produced. There are many differences between the book and movie of A Wrinkle In Time.…

When we think of murderers we often think of maniacal and evil individuals. Through the way that many works of literature and cinematic pieces depict murdered, we often see them as absolute evils. Murderers are flawed humans, albeit more than usual, they are not the absolute evil in fall in more of a gray area. Within Truman Capote’s novel, In Cold Blood, readers get an in-depth look at a pair of murderers and are able how one can fall down such a wicked path. Quote #1 In the murder mystery, Mr.Justice Wargrave is guilty of killing not one, but nine people and himself. The author does such an excellent job in keeping the reader wondering who the killer is until the end of the book. Even though she gives us a really big clue, the author makes sure it is not too obvious. And this is the clue; “Given the scheme in question which is neither more nor less than the execution of justice upon certain individuals for offenses which the law cannot touch, there is only one way in which that scheme could be accomplished. Mr. Owen could only come to the island in one way.…

Codes and espionage are interesting topics. In fact, there are two books I know that are written historically about espionage. “The Dark Game: True Spy Stories from Invisible Ink to CIA Moles” by Paul Janeczko and “The Code Book: The Science of Secrecy from Ancient Egypt to Quantum Cryptography” by Simon Singh are both about the history of espionage. Although The Dark Game by Paul Janeczko and The Code Book by Simon Singh are both nonfiction books about the history of espionage, the point of view, style, and tone is very different.…

A murderer always has a motive for killing someone. Everyone is different which means there could be billions of different scenarios, none of which having the exact same outcome. The murderer of this episode is discovered to be a young sixteen year old boy whose only motive to kill was because he had felt abandoned when he was a young child. Much like Justice Wargrave of…
