Atlantic Circuit (or System)

Atlantic system was trading links after 1500 that moved people , goods , wealth and culture around Atlantic basin. The majority of people that moved in Atlantic system were Europeans indentured servants and African slaves. Goods like , sugar and tobacco and minerals like silver and gold were major exports to Europe. While the European , diseases, culture ,slavery , forced labor and religion was exported to the natives of western hemisphere.

Plantocracy

In 18 centurey the rich planter elite that owned most of the land and slaves were called plantocracy. This colonies had more than 90 percent slave population and controller by few rich men.Plantocracy used slaves to work more than 18 hours a day in sugar plantations and made huge fortunes.

Traders were forbidden trading goods with foreigners.This system was called mercantilism , capitalism of merchants. British setup navigation act. In which charted companies were given monopolies over trade. A philosophy that all economic activity be regulated in a way that promoted the interests of the state.Later all European nations made these laws to get monopolies over trade and increase profits for governments.

Purdah

Purdah is veiling of women , covering of legs , arms and hair according to Islam. Female Purdah in Ottoman empire consisted of long ample dress with a scarf or long shawl pulled tight over forehead to conceal the hair. Women are required to do purdah when they went out of the house.

Caliph

The supreme ruler of Islam and Muhammad (P.B.U.H) successor. In 1517 when the sultan overtake the scared cities of Mecca and Medina the sultan of Ottoman Empire also became Caliph or protector of the sacred sites. Caliph was the only ruler of all Muslims and they must follow him.
