Compare And Contrast The Allegory Of The Cave And The Truman Show

As both of the stories continue to progress the audience seems to get a better sense of understanding of what is happening due to the authors use of characterization in both The Allegory of the Cave and The Truman Show. To start off with, the main characters in both the stories transform themselves from being gullible like, to smart and curious characters who want to explore their surroundings. In The Allegory of the Cave, the main characters in the story are the prisoners, in the beginning of the story the prisoners seemed like normal human beings who were just in trouble because of their actions, to the readers, however as the story progresses the readers find out that the prisoners were actually forced to be there since birth and they have no clue what the rest …show more content…
As the stories continues the audience gets a better sense of what the story was about and what was happening to the characters in the story. This was relevant in both of the cases present, in The Allegory of the Cave the beginning of the story the readers got the understanding that the prisoner who were chained up could be chained up because of the crimes that they committed, the readers did not get the true message of the story until the end of the book, but through the story the truth aspect started to get revealed more and more. In The Truman Show, the beginning of the movie the viewer’s felt like the movie was just about Truman living his normal life with a few problems arriving his way, but as the viewer’s look at the deeper meaning of the movie, the viewer’s understand that the other truth aspect to the story is a general idea about perspective and reality, which starts to become more understandable as the movie progresses.
