Education has been in this world for many centuries. It helps inform people about how the world works and about certain processes to solve problems and communicate with other people. In today’s society, education plays a crucial role in whether an individual becomes successful or not. The way the material is presented can have a direct correlation with whether a person can retain the taught gen. The methods of presenting information to students has changed over the years because of new inventions and creative ways to help them get a great education in a more understandable way. According to electronista news, a tablet would save as much as $250 per student for a school. This would add up very quickly and would save the school a lot of money. The average high school textbook costs about $70 (Hilgedick). A student will have about 7 classes. This will cost $490 for just one student for a school year. The price of a tablet is decreasing every year as people find cheaper ways to make them. Project Red was a project that replaced the textbooks in the schools with new tablets. Their results said, “Technology contributes to cost reductions and productivity improvements” (Project Red). Textbooks are prone to breaking and to losing pages. Many textbooks are made to put into binders. With this, many pages will tear out of them. Therefore the school must replace the textbook so the next student will have the needed pages to learn the material. Textbooks can also get costly because new editions come out with more information in them. It would cost the school a lot of money to update the books, whereas a tablet can update automatically some parts of the textbook where there are typos or where information needs to be …show more content…
Some people say that textbooks should stay because they are less of a distraction, they wouldn’t cause eye strains, and they wouldn’t cost as much because they everyone in the school already knows how to use them. People for the tablets say that the tablets would save money for the schools because of the expensive price to replace them every few years. The tablets would cause less pain on the back, and would help the kids interact with the material more. They say it would also keep the faculty and students updated with the new technology. This will make their lives easier in the world around them. The decision is very important because it involves the way information is presented in school. The way it is presented could determine whether the students recollect the information and excel because of it.
