What is the ideal situation for the child?
Throughout history women have been regarded as the weaker gender and usually took on the role of the caretaker of children and home while the male was the breadwinner. In today 's society, a lot of families can 't afford to live on only one income and the number of single parents is constantly raising. Recent studies show that more and more mothers are joining the workforce (Washingtonpost: Recession has more moms entering workforce), resulting in fewer children being raised by full time stay-at-home moms and the children are spending more time in childcare facilities instead. Living on one income can be tough. Especially single parents have to work in order to support and maintain their lifestyle. Also, as the child becomes older and more active and social, it 'll miss out on the automatic socialization that happens in daycare and other group care situations.
