Star Trek vs. Star Wars
Star Trek is an all American science fiction television series created in 1966. There are many novels over the Star Trek story also. Star Trek follows adventures in space of the starship USS Enterprise and its crew. Star Wars is an American science fiction film series released in 1977. Star Wars depicts the adventures of various characters “ a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.” There are books also over these movies too. Fandoms have been going at it for over 40 years on this exact topic, which is better, which has the best characters, or the best plot.
Characters are the very central focus of any tv show, movie, novel, etc. The types of characters that are involved in a story create the many different types of conflicts and tensions as well as different types of resolutions and outcomes. Star Trek’s characters are extremely intense and intelligent. They all each have their own duties on the ship to accomplish and see through every mission the come upon. Kirk, the captain of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek, maintains his essential nature while attempting to solve the problems that arise throughout the mission in that episode. James T. Kirk otherwise known as Captain Kirk makes all the decisions usually in the episode. Captain Kirk’s most intense character trait is his hatred for all things evil or tyrant. He is destined to destroy, capture, and protect against all evil. Luke Skywalker in Star Wars is the equivalent and can be compared to character wise to Captain Kirk. Luke is a born leader in the Star Wars movies. He beings though to start going on his own, he must stop testing his readiness and listening so much to others on what to do so he may trust in himself.
