Soccer vs Football Many would argue that football is mainly an American sport but it is slowly gaining a reputation around the world. In the other hand soccer has been played worldwide and is a graceful and disciplined sport. There are some similarities and differences in soccer and football. A similarity is both are played in two halves but the use of time and quarters differ each other and a difference is that in soccer players are required to wear some equipment but are not required to wear as much equipment to compete while in football the players are required to wear much more protective gear if they intend to compete. Both sport are played in halves but have their differences. In soccer a typical professional soccer match will consist of two forty-five minutes halves with a half time of fifteen minutes and is mostly is a nonstop action sport. This, however is not true. While football is slowly rising in interest in many places besides the United States and may have fewer fans does not make it less favorable than soccer.
