Both of these pigs are very intelligent and they were the first few among the other animals to start reading and writing. Snowball is a very good speaker and gives powerful speeches meanwhile Napoleon lacks while giving a speech. Snowball is the one who always spoke first and he always came up with the ideas for the farm. Snowball was a more vivacious pig than Napoleon, quicker in speech and more inventive (Orwell 35). Snowball also wrote the seven commandments. Snowball declared that this was just the place for a windmill, which could be made to operate a dynamo and supply the farm with electric power. Napoleon, was only now for the first time announcing it that the name “Animal Farm” had been abolished. Henceforward the farm the farm was to be known as “The Manor Farm” which, he believed, was its correct and original name (Orwell 138).
