Personal Response I enjoyed the action and the suspense throughout the book. This book was a lot more bloody and violent than the last one. I could relate to both Sam and Astrid in many ways, and felt like I was fighting with them.

Plot: After getting beat by Drake, Sam is both mentally and physically scarred, and Astrid sets up a council to run the city. Everything seems to be fine in the town of Perdido Beach until Zil and his Human Crew get a nasty idea to rid the freaks in the so they set one side of the town on fire. And Caine sees this as a good time to make an escape to a island that is said to be off the coast of the town and then Zil spots them trying to run and then intercepts them and when he does Caine kills one of Zil’s

This book does a great job keeping the reader what will happen next. If you aren’t into to history this book wouldn’t be for you. It has lots of dates in the beginning and kind of drags a little before it will get good. However, if you stay with it and keep reading it gets much better. The book has strong points but it also hits it lower points and it doesn’t seem as interesting.…

My complaint about this novel is that the language that is used makes it rather boring to read. It felt as if the book dragged on. If you are looking for a book for inspiration, this is a great one, but if you are reading for pleasure, I would try to find something more interesting. Ultimately, I am glad I read this book. It helped give me courage in a time I needed…

Angelina and Sarah Grimke were the two sisters that combined women’s rights and social reforms. They both seemed to question the institutions that were set for slavery and how women were being treated. They had a strong ambition to end slavery and acquire equality for men and women. The sisters became active members in the Society of Friends where they shared The Quakers’ views on slavery and gender equality. Even though the sisters were from a slaveholding family and grew up around slaves they spoke out and wrote in support of abolition.…

Kernel Of Truth is the first book in the A Popcorn Shop Mystery series. A wonderful new series that had me loving it from the first page. The book has a nice, even pace to it and the introduction of characters is done with just the right amount of information. In Just Mercy, Bryan Stevenson depicted clearly the unfair ways the poor and the incarnated were treated in the criminal justice system. Stevenson educated his readers about the death penalty, women’s prison, and youth being tried as adult in the criminal system without being to overwhelm and factual. Another way Stevenson brought his novel to life is through his characters. Bryan Stevenson makes you feel every emotion his character went through; it was as if we went through every tribulation the characters had to endure. Stevenson also made his audience experience every joy and heartbreak that he went through as their defendant’s lawyer.…

The book “Chains” was a very interesting story with a lot of dialogue in it. Chains was written in 3rd person limited. The narrator was following Isabel and her significant story. SOme of the advantages of third person limited was you could now what Isabel was thinking throughout the story and what she was planning to do next. The disadvantages in the book was the reader did not know how Curzon was doing when he was in prison.…
