It was clear that Roosevelt, unlike Taft and Wilson, was a true man of the people. He was the crusader of Progressivism, the first leader to dare to make the changes he had for the betterment of the country. His landslide second election clearly shows that the American people respected and valued his reforms and ideas, and felt he truly represented them. Even after Roosevelt resigned from the presidency after his second term, he kept the ideas of Progressivism with him.
