The United States (US) constitution was composed in 1787 and ratified in 1788, and has the Bill of Rights, 7 articles and etc. The US constitution is the central government of the whole United States. The North Carolina (NC) constitution has three different constitutions all written and ratified at different dates and times. The constitution has 14 articles, all of which has all power and legal standing in the state of North Carolina. The US and the North Carolina Constitution have mostly the same concepts of protecting the rights of the people, protecting the people and the equality of all. Both constitutions do not have the same religious meanings and public education ideals. Also both constitutions govern over the people and the government. However, have different …show more content…
The US constitution includes the rights in the Bill of Rights and in the NC constitution; the rights are in the Declaration of Rights. Both constitutions have the same concepts of the amendments. Also both constitutions have somewhat the same purpose. The US constitution is to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, whereas the purpose of the NC constitution is the same but with all credit and mercy in the hands of God. Also, the US and the NC constitution both contain separation of powers into judicial, legislative and executive branches. This is in section 6 of the NC constitution and the articles, each of the branches can overrule each other to ensure the low percentage of dictatorship. Both constitutions go into detail about the duties of the officials in these branches and the consequences of not doing these stated duties.
