Toyota Corolla vs. Nissan Sentra Although the Toyota Corolla has been around since 1966, and the Nissan Sentra only since 1982, both have stood their test of time. For any incoming college student or newly married couple both Corolla and Sentra have proven to be the most popular among all of the compact cars. The reasons for this phenomenon are their reasonable starting prices, how many miles to the gallon they get also known as fuel economy and the wide range of colors offered. Now let us see which one is really the best. Each car brand has a specific model they take pride in. For Nissan it is the Sentra, and for Toyota it is the Corolla. The Nissan Sentra offers five models, each with their own starting price and key features. Their S Series …show more content…
For the Nissan Sentra’s they use the Xtronic Continuous Variable Transmission in all of their models. Whereas the Toyota Corolla’s use either a Continuous Variable Transmission or a 4-speed electronic controlled. For the Sentra S Series, they can get anywhere from 27 miles per gallon in the city to 39 miles per gallon on the highway with a combined city plus highway of 33 miles per gallon. The FE+S Series on the other hand gets 40 miles per gallon on the highway and 30 in the city with a combined of 34 miles per gallon. The SV, SR, and SL Series can get anywhere from 39 miles per gallon on the highway and 29 miles per gallon in the city with a combined of 32 miles per gallon. Contrarily, the Corolla L Series can get 36 miles per gallon on the highway and 27 miles per gallon in the city with a combined of 31 miles per gallon. The LE and S Series both get 37 miles per gallon on the highway and 29 miles per gallon in the city with a combined of 37 miles per gallon. The LE Eco stands alone and gets 40 miles per gallon on the highway and 30 miles per gallon in the city for a combined of 34 miles per gallon.
