Toyota Corolla vs. Nissan Sentra Although the Toyota Corolla has been around since 1966, and the Nissan Sentra only since 1982, both have stood their test of time. For any incoming college student or newly married couple both Corolla and Sentra have proven to be the most popular among all of the compact cars. The reasons for this phenomenon are their reasonable starting prices, how many miles to the gallon they get also known as fuel economy and the wide range of colors offered. Now let us see which one is really the best. Each car brand has a specific model they take pride in. For Nissan it is the Sentra, and for Toyota it is the Corolla.
