My Parents
My parents are very different. They have almost polar personalities, my dad on one hand is very outgoing but my mom or the other hand is more laid back and chill about life. They also grew up in different backgrounds almost on different ends of the United States. But over the years I have realized that they are also similar in many ways also. They share almost the exact same viewpoints, political or just ethical, and both of them are positive role models. My parents have many differences but they also have many similarities.
One difference between my parents is their personalities. My father is a very outgoing person. He loves to travel the world and do extreme things that other people wouldn't even think about doing. For example,

My father has the belief that education is very important and that you should attempt to go to the highest schooling that you possibly can in order to get ahead in the world and in order to live the best possible life that you can. He has many views about life and he likes to express them in a way that is sometimes condescending. He likes to make many political remarks and posts many controversial things on Facebook that some people may like to keep to themselves. My dad also has a saying that, “If anyone else has done it, so can you.” He believes that if someone else has done it, there is no reason as to why you can't do it either. My mother is similar in the way that when she expresses her viewpoints on different things, she can also be fairly condescending. She also believes that if you work hard enough at something, you can most likely achieve it. My mother also believes that education is very important and if you have the opportunity to get a higher education, you should because it will help you get ahead in the world and going to school also provides many networking opportunities that you probably wouldn't have if you didn't go to school. My parents have many similarities and one of them is their viewpoints about …show more content…
My father is a positive role model because he has led by his actions and has paved the way for me and my brother to be successful and he is always trying to do the right thing, sometimes he doesn't, but he always learns from those mistakes and corrects them. My mother is similar to my dad in this way because she always leads by example and she always says, “I don't do anything that I don't expect you guys to do”. She always says this because she doesn't drink or smoke or anything like that because she knows that parents actions can rub off on their kids and she doesn't want us to do those things because she knows how bad they are. My parents are similar in many ways and one of those ways is that they are both positive role models for me and my

Steel Magnolias is my favorite movie. This movie reflects the daily lives of six southern women with different personalities and careers. Being a southern girl I could see myself in one of the characters. M'Lynn, Truvy, Annelle, Claree, Shelby and my favorite Ouiser all had a unique personality but are alike in so many ways which is the love they have for their families, one another, and the support for each other during family crisis. They laughed together, cried together and even made jokes about one another but as friends they always made the best out of all obstacles that crossed them rather it was a happy occasion or tragic.…

How to Raise a Child When I was still a child my role model was my father; he still is actually. He used to take me with him when he had a job at one of his rental houses, he disciplined me when need be, and he was always nice to everyone. That is the kind of father I want to be. Amy Chua’s, “Why Chinese Mothers are Superior,” and Hanna Rosin’s “Mother Inferior?” are two articles describing how a parent should raise his or her child.…

There was my tall dad, who always likes to joke around. Then there was my mom, who was really nice and sweet, like candy. My sister and me were very similar, yet very different. We both like computers, watching youtube, and eating Gyros that we only get once a month. One day, about in the middle of the baseball season, me and my mother were on our way to a late night, eight o'clock game.…

When I interacted with my mother it was more of the relaxing kind because she gave me good advice and diverse ways of seeing things than my father. My mother when she saw I was struggling with a subject in school she would go and talk to my teachers to see what can be done to help me improve. For my father, it is the opposite because he wants me to get great grades and not slack off a bit. He is the one that is more demanding when it comes to school rather than my mother. It is like one parent is more understanding and the other is not as much because perfection is the best method.…

Personally, I identify as Polish and English, but I celebrate the Polish culture more. There are more than just cultures to influence a person. Some of my personal influences are being diagnosed with Graves’ Disease, my father, and growing up in an “Army family.”…
