The Heritage assessment tool includes personal ethnic, support system, living surroundings, eating habits, religion and cultural background. Different cultures have their own special traditions, which can inherit from generation to generation and consciously or unconsciously affect individuals. These concepts deal with person’s physical, mental and spiritual belief. Every individual has their own heritage, and this is very different among different cultures (Spector 2009). The first person, whom I was interviewing, is from Thailand and now lives in America with kids and her husband. She is a devout Buddhist who believes ‘’karma’’, you get what you pay, so she is enthusiastic in participating religious activities, such as praying, diet and celebrating religious holidays and promoting the public welfare. She believes her god will protect and bring health and happiness to her. She prefers foods of her ethnic background so she will cook and prepare special national foods. Participating ethnic activities is important family tradition for her family. The way she maintains her health is annual checking up. she tries to avoid high fat, sugar and sodium food in her diet as well as regularly exercise. She expressed that she was barely to get sick, but when she got a cold or had flu symptoms, she used herbs or traditional remedies from her country. To review the Ethiopia from socioeconomic background, people suffer low income and lack of medical resources. The health of both adults and children in Ethiopia is threatened by a number of factors, among them poverty, malnutrition, malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and other communicable diseases (Bekele, Kefale, & Tadesse, 2008).
