Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato became the face of the Disney empire, which propelled them to stardom. Miley Cyrus is the daughter of ‘90s country star Billy Ray Cyrus, Cyrus is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Demi Lovato started out as a child actor on Barney & Friends, now she is also an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Disney created an image for Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato as role models for a younger generation, as a result of growing up both of these social figures had to break the mold of their Disney “star” platform. Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato are similar because they both rose from the Disney empire. The pressure of growing up as a Disney star has not veered these childhood actresses form their own successful musical careers, they maintain clear voices on the things they believe in, while finally both had difficulties growing up in the spotlight

Miley Cyrus has used her platform to stand for the homeless, and the LGBTQ community by organizing the non-profit organization “Happy Hippie Foundation”. Demi Lovato made a documentary, “Simply Complicated,” which speaks openly, and honestly on Lovato’s battle with her bipolar disorder diagnosis, and her addiction to drugs and alcohol. Lovato is the organization’s official Global Citizen Ambassador for mental health.
