Compare And Contrast Mexican American Culture

Culture is important because it represents who you are and where you come from. Culture is defined as the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively. People see art and entertainment as important parts of life because it is a form of expression and is something to be taken in. It is a source of beauty and pleasure. All human societies have forms of beauty and pleasure. Culture consist of five elements: traditions/customs, art/entertainment, language/education, values/ norms, and daily life. Because of different beliefs, customs, traditions, etc., culture can separate us, but also connect us. Culture is an important part of human life because it gives us our own personalities. It defines us as individuals. I am apart of the Mexican-American culture. To be apart of the Mexican-American culture means that you value your family, customs, traditions, norms and your daily life. In both cultures, the English language is spoken and written. Both cultures value family. These two cultures believe friends will come and go but family will always be there. Having a healthy relationship with your family is like having a lasting friendship. Your family members are like your lasting friends. They teach us to have relationships with other people, how to love, how to get along, how to share, etc. They are the people we can always turn to when we have good news, or when something is wrong.
