Major Griffths according to Roald can be best described as admirable. The text states, " There was something rather admirable about the way he was galloping around the deck with no clothes on. ( The Voyage Out, paragraph 10). Roald thinks that looking at him running around is worthwhile. Major Griffths doesn't care about what anyone thinks of him. He's proud of his body and isn't ashamed of anything. Roald isn't outgoing like him. He finds that quite rather amusing seeing someone run around naked with no one to judge him. Another trait Roald describes Major Griffths is as Brave. One way Major Griffths proves to be brave is,the text states" The galloping Major who didn't give a fig for anybody and I decided I would say something very casual to him this time, but I was also envying him. I was actually jealous of his total-don't-give-a-damn attitude ,and i wished like mad that I myself had the guts to go out there and do the same thing",( The Voyage Out, paragraph 10,11) Major Griffths isn't afraid to do things he wants.
