Compare And Contrast Mayan And Aztec Civilization

The Mayan and the Aztec were two very successful ancient civilizations that had many similarities. One area in which they were very alike was religion. They both believed in multiple gods, practiced human sacrifice, and built temples to honor their gods. Additionally, they both lived in Central America. Though these civilizations had many similarities, they also had many differences. The Mayan civilization was located in a very warm climate zone called tierra caliente. The Aztec civilization was located in a very cold climate zone called tierra frÍa. Also, the Mayans had on ruler for each city-state and the Aztecs had one ruler for the entire empire. Lastly, the Mayans had a slash and burn farming method while the Aztecs creates chinampas.
