Martin Luther King Jr. birth name was Michael King Jr. Lewis, (2016). Malcolm X also had a different name, his original name was Michael Little, Mamiya (2016). Both men shared the same upbringing and religious as a child. Their father’s ministers in Baptist churches. Exposing children at an early age of leadership open the door, and greater chances of their child to follow. Although the two had leader’s father’s, they also experience racial inequality while developing into men. Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr., later in life found themselves as leaders with followers like their father’s. Similarly, both men experience confinement behind bars.
Dr. King followed his father footsteps to keep the same religious, however, Malcolm X differ his father religious and accepted Muslim as his religious. Dr. King later in life became the voice of Civil Rights movement and the right to vote. He promoted non-violence tactics, such as a march in Washington to achieve Civil Rights for all. Dr. King also delivers the speech of “I have a Dream”. Malcolm X later in life, also became an activist and conveying to his followers to have independence, integrity, and identity for blacks only.
