Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr also had disputes on integration of African Americans. In the digital history document it states “ I have a dream that one day on the red gills of Georgia, sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaves owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood… I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Martin Luther King Jr feels that African Americans should be able to integrate with the whites, and that no one should care about the colors of people’s skin and we should all just live in a brotherhood. On the other hand Malcolm X feels that this should not be so. As it states in the digital history document “ All we’re saying now is since we’re already divided, the least the government can do is let us control the areas where we live. In the text it states “... regarding the possibility of casualties to a minority population confronting a well armed, wealthy majority with a fanatical right that would delight in the killing of thousands of black men, women, and children.” Martin Luther King Jr. is saying that with violence comes along with the killing of innocent people, he also says that violence would not do any good because you can’t fight darkness with darkness and win, the only outcome will be more darkness; however you can fight darkness with light, henceforth Martin Luther King Jr. organizing nonviolent protests. As per usual Malcolm X feels a completely different way, as it states in the digital history document “The history of unpublished violence against our people clearly indicates that we must be prepared to defend ourselves or we will continue to be a defenseless people at the mercy of a ruthless and violent racist mob.” Malcolm X express that violence is validated when it is used as self defense, since it states in the constitution that every American has the right to bear arms. He feels that if an African American is being attacked by a white that they should be able to defend
