People not in band think all band classes are the same; however, it is much different. Marching, jazz and concert all are completely different. Hopefully this essay will clear up some confusion for those not in the know. Marching band is probably the most different from the bands. Marching band is very all about unity and look the same. Unlike jazz and concert, marching band has both a musical and a visual focus. The marchers have to worry about where they are going while at the same time they have to play the music.
