The same thing was happening in Macbeth, everything went in chaos after king Duncan died. The prophecies in Macbeth also play a big role since they were the reason that Macbeth became overly ambitious and has caused himself to fall. One important theme in Macbeth is the psychological effects of guilt that target both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. They both suffered emotionally, but Lady Macbeth suffered even more and that was the main cause of her death in the play.
