They both use stealth to get as close as possible to their prey then attack. They will hide in tall grass and get all the way down to the ground and crawl, almost dragging their body across the ground. When they attack, they attack fast. They will lunge at the neck of their prey to suffocate them. Lions have even been known to put their mouth around the nose and mouth of its prey while other lions in the pack hold its body down to suffocate it. The primary enemy of the lion is the spotted hyena. Lions have the advantage with their size, but hyenas do quite a bit of damage and cause plenty of mayhem during a battle. The other enemy of the lion is rival lion prides. Neither the other packs of lions or dholes, another enemy, are very forgiving when it comes to outsiders trespassing in their territory. Fortunately, a pride of lions doesn't have any substantial enemies other than these two. Unlike the two enemies of the lions, the tiger has multiple enemies. They include big buffalos, elephants, and bears. Another foe of the tiger, as mentioned previously, is the Asiatic wild dog, also known as a dhole. Dholes hunt in packs so they can harass or attack the tiger while it roams around all alone. A single dhole would never stand a chance against a tiger. Even when they attack in packs, one or two of the pack members will be likely to die in a battle with a tiger. Consequently, dholes usually won't initiate an attack.
