September 11th, 2001 a day that no one in this country will ever forget. Every year this day comes along I’ve actualized that it’s filled with sorrow and remembrance. Most people have no memory of when this tragic event in the U.S.A. occurred; however, Florence Jaramillo and Guillermina Trevizo remember that day like it was yesterday. When it came to the interview there was a great deal of similarities and a couple of differences between Mrs. Jaramillo’s and Guillermina’s responses. Guillermina Trevizo, my mother, and Florence Jaramillo both mentioned they felt fear and the national security rose up; however, they were both doing different activities on September 11th, 2001.

Jaramillo and Guillermina were asked what changed in the U.S. after these attacks; both said security increased at all airports. They both mentioned that before the attacks U.S. citizens didn’t have to have a passport to enter either Canada or Mexico; then after the attacks that changed for the nation’s security. If one was a U.S. citizen and was going to travel to either Canada or Mexico, one had to have a passport to enter. In addition, Mrs. Jaramillo added that we had way more freedom before these attacks; however, Guillermina added that the economy descended. Although Mrs. Jaramillo didn’t mention anything about the country’s economy considering she owns a restaurant that was awarded a 2016 James Beard award. Mrs. Jaramillo was most likely affected by these attacks, considering what Guillermina mentioned about the decrease in the nation’s economy.
