There are many religions in the world that people live off of, believe in, and dispute over. Some date way back to the early civilizations, others just recently. No doubt some religions are based off of other forgotten or original beliefs but each is different in its own suit and helps us as humans live and function with a purpose. Islam and Buddhism. Two completely different religions with different morals and beliefs, yet they both give the modern day dwellers a sense of belonging. We live off of religions, well most of us, and we live our daily lives by it, obeying the standards, doing what was expected for older religions, and doing certain rituals set in stone before. This essay will go over the two religions stated above, Islam and Buddhism, and talk about how they came to be, then explain the historical connection they have to us now.
Islam is a monotheistic religion that first came to be in the Arabian Peninsula. It was started by a man named Muhammad who was born in A.D. 570 (Article 3). He worked with nomadic farmers and became a successful merchant in his younger years. He later saw the greed emitting from the other humans and it troubled him to a great extent. (Article 3). Although Hinduism and Buddhism are somewhat similar, Buddhism was centered around independence, allowing people to seek enlightenment for themselves instead of asking gods to help, and it rejected all castes so everybody could learn about nirvana and free themselves(Article 1). The one Buddhism religion soon broke into two with different beliefs, but Buddhism remained very popular in Asia although it was denied in India.
