One main point that leads people to buy an Android Phone is the price of a device. Android Phones differ from iPhones in that they are cheaper, yet they still can show a great performance and the same settings. The amount of money that people spend buying an iPhone is enough to buy two good new Android Phones, which definitely crash the apple on this scenario. Also, by having an open operational system, developers can share information to solve issues in programming new apps, reducing the cost of the system. Assuming this, Android OS is more compatible with new apps, because people do not need to wait for big updates of apps from the main developers of the OS once they can get it directly from small developers. However, this open system can lead to security problems once people are installing unofficial apps on their phones. These apps can be used as spy ones, stealing important information like passwords and bank account details. Nevertheless, people have a lot of options of choice. However, in contrast to Android Phones, iPhones can be really expensive not offering much more than Android ones like I mentioned above. But regardless of the price, many people choose to buy an iPhone assuming that it has a better OS. The operational system from an iPhone, the iOS, is really more intuitive and easy to use. Users are really comfortable about the way how the iOS flows into screens and apps because many of them are used to it since the first iPhone came out. Also iOS differ from Android OS in that it has a closed OS. Every app to iPhones need to be downloaded directly from the Apple store, which is the app store to iPhones. So developers cannot change structural settings on the iOS. All this things makes the system safer and stable, it is unusual to see crashed apps and system failures such as security breaks. Obviously by not allowing changes in the OS, developers can create apps specifically to iPhones guaranteeing that it will play in every iPhone with the same iOS version. Developers don’t need to worry about the changes made by another brands like in Android Phones. However, by having less options of choice, iPhone consumers are tied to the few models available in the market. Like an apple can just be green or red, iPhones can be found in less options. One article points out that “a key part of Apple’s approach to products is that it deliberately creates devices that will appeal to the broadest possible market. However, many people don’t seem to understand that Apple doesn’t chase niche markets. All they know is that someone else in the industry has a phone with a feature that Apple doesn’t include” (Moltz). Therefore, if Apple wants to continue increasing their profits, they need to develop more products that appeal to a different kind of market or even a market that hasn’t been addressed or provided for. There is no doubt that sales would increase if there were more differentiation within Apple products as well as an increase in their overall market.…
