As you get a glimpse of the Midwestern state of Ohio and the Southeastern state of Florida you are able to compare and contrast which state would suit you the best. Ohio is more of a family oriented, farm state compared to the tourist filled, vacation state of Florida. Ohio differs from the state of Florida in various ways, such as the type of culture, the type of weather and the type of lifestyle. The type of culture in South Florida is immensely different from Ohio. In Florida, there are many restaurants that serve anywhere from Cuban food to Brazilian in almost every city. You are able to try food from almost any country you can think of. In Ohio, there is primarily only American food restaurants, Chinese/Japanese restaurants, Mexican restaurants or Italian Restaurants. Any other type of restaurant is very scarce. In Ohio, you get to experience all four seasons of weather change. In Florida, you will get to experience “Summer” all year long with the exception of a week or two that may be a little chillier than average. In Northern Florida, you will experience far more chilly days compared to the south, the summers in Ohio are far more humid compared to the every day heat of Florida. Many older people migrate from Ohio to Florida during the winter months so they don’t have to bare the blistering cold. These people have been nicknamed the “Snowbirds.” In Ohio, the downfalls as far as weather goes are tornadoes, blizzards and freezing rain. In Florida, the worst of the weather would be hurricanes, tropical storms and rain so bad that will leave you parked on the side of the highway. You will also notice a difference of aquatic species due to the body of water in each location. In Ohio, there is Lake Erie and numerous rivers. Florida has the Atlantic Ocean on its coast.
