Lecture 1)A) In what ways were “pagan” and early Christian Antisemitism distinct from each other? In what ways were they similar?
The ways that the two groups were different is that pagan is a person holding religious beliefs other than those of the main world religions. Also the pagans were mostly seen as being label onto the Jews. the Christian Anti Semitism hated the jews and wanted them to become christian. In a way that the two groups had similarities is that it didn't matter if you were a Jew, Christian, Muslim, etc someone hated you and had issues with you. Why most people hated the Jews was because they were Monotheistic belief in one god. While other religions where polytheist, who believe in more than one god.

In text it stated that a group of Jews came up to Pontius Pilate and conceived him to kill Jesus. The Jews were then stated saying that the blood of Jesus is on their hand and their children, therefore taking it upon themselves for eternity. Also many occurrences of Jews being killed or killing themselves for not switching religions. Another noticeable hatred toward the Jews was they were taxed higher than anyone. Another noticeable was Louis IX went out to try and destroy Judaism and wipe it off the earth. An interesting point made in the Lecture was said that jews had to wear yellow belts as the christians wear blue belts to tell them apart. This also tise in with Star of David the jews had to wear to publicly show everyone you are
