Ponyboy seemed so strong in the book but in the movie they sort of made him more cowardly he still has the same emotions as the book made him have such as the conflict between him and his older brother Darry, Darry hit Ponyboy and Pony ran away with his friend Johnny, Pony was crying because of the incident. There are also a lot of changes throughout the book that happen to Pony take his hair for example it is long and light brown and slicked back in the beginning but near the end of the book it is short and bleach blonde. It just seems so much more emotional and easier to connect with the characters in the book than the movie because of how differently they are depicted I just felt like the movie left out a lot of emotional small parts that added a lot of fine detail to the book and probably would to the movie as well if they were
