Compare And Contrast Essay On The Outsiders

The Outsiders is a book and a movie both with their differences but ultimately have the same story and concept. The Outsiders is about a kid named Ponyboy Curtis who is a greaser along with a gang in his neighborhood who learn that a life of being bad is a lot more trouble than it’s worth. Ponyboy is 14 years old with light hair that is slicked back like a greasers hair should be Ponyboy has two brothers the oldest is named Darry and the middle brother is named Soda, Soda is tall, handsome, and funny he plays around with Pony a lot in the book and the movie also to note that the movie leaves out some parts that are in the book. Darry is more strict and a responsible figure in Pony’s life he took over the bills and responsibility of Ponyboy and soda after their parents died so he is most likely stressed out all the time. …show more content…
Ponyboy seemed so strong in the book but in the movie they sort of made him more cowardly he still has the same emotions as the book made him have such as the conflict between him and his older brother Darry, Darry hit Ponyboy and Pony ran away with his friend Johnny, Pony was crying because of the incident. There are also a lot of changes throughout the book that happen to Pony take his hair for example it is long and light brown and slicked back in the beginning but near the end of the book it is short and bleach blonde. It just seems so much more emotional and easier to connect with the characters in the book than the movie because of how differently they are depicted I just felt like the movie left out a lot of emotional small parts that added a lot of fine detail to the book and probably would to the movie as well if they were
