Human beings will miss the importance of a social life. McKibben states, when watching television and being a distraction, it is almost taking a time out in your life. Kleege adds on that people seemed to find comfort in boredom, which is watching T.V. Kleege believes that the mind sketches an outline or map in life. The brain knows there is a blind spot, and when you really want to knowledge the blind spot, you see it. But Mckibben suggested that when you are focusing on T.V, you do not realize what is happening: the only sense’s that are functioning are the eyes and ears. That being said, concentrating on television, will restrict you from seeing that blind spot. He continues that T.V makes them feel more passive, bored, sad, and lonely, yet people still watch T.V. Why? Television never even thinks in rejecting you. Television could be looked at in a positive way or negative way; it really depends how you see things, mentioned by McKibben. One could take it the right way or the wrong way. For example, “I see what I sense is there, what I know is there, what I hope is there, not necessarily what actually is there.” Human beings create an illusion or imagine what is there or how things are going to happen. People who take advantage of television affect there brain and start doing things differently.
