The song, performed by some of the greatest vocalists of the time, was made to help enlighten people on how their choices are impacted in everyday life. In the first lyric, it references how one heeds a certain call. This connects to both The Crucible and The Majestic because John and Peter both heeded to Elizabeth and Adele’s call to tell the truth. Both Elizabeth and Adele go through times of betrayal, and they each have their own emotional response to the events that take place, which evolve into acceptance towards John and Peter’s actions.
