News happens 24 hours a day and is part of our daily life, keeping audiences informed of events happening locally, nationally and worldwide. As we watch our chosen news source, have you ever noticed any differences in the anchors delivering the news, how news worthy events are reported on and the many ways we can keep up on the breaking news. While there are many ways to get daily news, our focus is television news, looking at local ABC 7 Morning News and ABC World News Tonight.
News Anchors
ABC 7 Morning News is co-anchored by Phillip Palmer and Leslie Sykes which airs daily Monday thru Friday from 4:30 am to 7:00 am. Phillip Palmer started with ABC in 1998 as general assignment reporter and weekend anchor. His career began in 1985 as a sports reporter for KNOE AM/FM Radio, in 1990 he was hired as a weekend sports anchor @ KAKE in Wichita Kansas, then moved onto KCNC in Denver CO as morning news anchor in 1994. Both ABC Morning News and ABC World News Tonight have website providing latest breaking news and updates on previous breaking news. One can even set alerts to receive breaking news notices on their cell phones.
News feeds can also be followed on social media sources such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram available. Local News casters - provide personal feed through ABC 7 Morning news to follow some their personal lives and things doing off air. Giving the viewer a sense of being part of the ABC Channel 7 news family. Viewers are also are encouraged to interact with news programming and send pictures of weather events, back to school photos and holiday events. World News can follow world news page and all other programs under their umbrella. Though while writing this paper I was unable to find a way to follow David Moir. Without being able to follow him specifically continues a formal business feel.
