Compare And Contrast Democrats And Republicans

The United States has many parties that run in the presidential election. Although many people run for president usually only two parties win the Democrats or the Republicans. Most people just assume that the two parties share some similarities. Contrary to popular belief these two parties win most elections they are not alike in any way shape or form. The Democrats and Republicans have many beliefs on topics such as tax policies, social issues, labor and free trade laws, health care, social problems, energy and environmental issues, crime and capital punishment, and each liberty.
When it comes to social issues Democrats and Republicans have very different standpoints. Democrats usually have progressive views favoring the right to abortion and gay marriage, but push for stronger gun control laws. The Democrats and Republicans have very different beliefs on tax policies. Both parties believe that there should be tax cuts, but Democrats believe that the middle and low-income classes should get tax cuts while the upper class gets high taxes. Republicans believe that all level of classes should get tax cuts. When it comes to the environment and energy issues Democrats support restricting drilling for oil or other fossil fuels. They also believe in putting tax dollars towards alternative energy solutions while Republicans favor letting the market decide which forms of energy are practical. Republicans also move for more oil drilling and for fossil fuels. Democrats usually want a lot of government regulation and oversight of the health care system, and it makes it where everyone can get health care. Republicans oppose the Affordable Care Act and don’t want the government involved in health care. They believe that too much government with drive the costs up and have a negative impact on the quality of care for the
