Compare And Contrast Essay: Country Vs. Pop

Everyone has their own style, their own way of doing things. What one person may like will always differ from what another person may like. Everyone has their own sense of originality. That is what makes us so unique, not everyone is the same. So why think that everyone has the same taste in music? People’s taste or style in music will always be different; some might have similar tastes, but no one is the same. One major topic in music is what genre is better. The most commonly compared genres are country and pop. Country is the genre that makes you want to fall in love with someone, while pop is the type of music you listen to after they break your heart. But if you look up the meaning of pop it just means “popular”. So, in reality, any type of music that is popular can be classified as “pop”. There are many reasons why so many people prefer country over pop. The main reason being that country lasts forever. In today’s music there are a variety of country artists who are on the charts. Which brings the question, “do country artist connect with their fans, or do fans connect with them?”. One thing is for sure, that it does not matter what genre of music you write, sing, or perform about, people will always connect if the music it relatable.
“Relatability”. Who can relate to what. Most people think that country music is more relatable than pop. In some cases this might be true. Both genres of music can be easily relatable to anyone, it is just a matter of the listener’s situation.
