Test- Romanticism Romanticism was an ideology that developed as a reaction to the Enlightenment and Industrialization. It encouraged emotion and a connection to the past and nature. These feelings and ideas were expressed through art, literature, and music. Two musicians at the time were Beethoven and Chopin. Their pieces expressed emotion and many of them connected to nature. Beethoven’s “Symphony No.6” was inspired by a hike; in it, his music portrays different parts of nature such as thunderstorms and flowing rivers.
