Many people think the debate is bottled water versus tap water, but in reality the debate is the people’s taste and the convenience of the water source. Tap water has many more positive aspects to it compared to bottled water. Studies show that every year bottled water consumption increases by 10%, not knowing tap water is cheaper and just as convenient as bottled water. An abundance of people think bottled water is better for you, easier to access, and is more convenient for you, on the contrary it’s really not. Some of the bottled water sources are the same sources as tap water, such as, rivers, streams, lakes, and even reservoirs. Also, a variety of people might not know the bottles they are carrying around in their hands will end up being …show more content…
For instance, bottled water has always been seen as being portable, but people can also carry around tap water as well. With tap water people can choose the size and shape of the container of their choosing rather than a boring plastic bottle. With tap water people have a choice of whether or not they want to drink from a plastic or glass container, square or circular container, or a short or tall container. It’s the people's choice to choose what they want. They do not have to stick with the generic small or large plain plastic bottle. Another bit of information people do not know is, the bottles they buy from grocery stores or handy ways are not too safe for the environment. People should carry around their own water containers to ensure the safety of the life of animals and the life of the …show more content…

On the other hand, according to Sanaz Majd in 2015 tap water costs about two thousand times less than bottled water. Over the course of two years the cost of tap water increased from one thousand times less to two thousand times less than bottled water. Not many people think tap water costs money, it does, just like bottled water. The point is, over the course of the year if you drink the necessary eight cups of water you will only be paying around fifty cents for tap water and around one thousand four hundred dollars for bottled water. So in the long run, the average family will be paying less if they stick with tap
