Hector as courageous as ever and chooses to stay outside of the ramparts (a defensive wall around the castle) of the fortified city. Hector have chosen this step not because of he is scared of someone, it is because the entire army could be there safer than usual spots. Priam, Hector’s father saw that Achilles and his army is upcoming and he hid Hector behind the ramparts with some army in front of Hector. However, Achilles found Hector and the battle between those takes place for some time and as it comes to an end, Hector flees from Achilles to secure himself. For common people, Hector’s behavior of escaping from Achilles looks quite unlike the heroic behavior. But, Hector not only thinks about himself but also about his wife Andromache, father Priam and Son Astyanax. Later, Hector stops escaping form Achilles and starts to fight again because of the cunning trick by Athena. In this battle, Achilles kills Hector by today’s cruel standards.
