In the excerpts “Beowulf” and “ The Wife’s Lament.” We read of differences in the way the characters show emotions, responses, which make the poems different in point of view. For example, we see the differing in emotions and responses when the wife says, “I make this song about me full sadly my own wayfaring.” we feel pity for the wife right from the start do to her depressive opening. as for “Beowulf,” the emotions are vague. For instance, unferth resurrects a tale of beowulf saying “You both braved the waves, risked your lives on deep waters because of a foolish boast?” unferth isn't as direct as the wife when it comes to emotion. the reader has to put him?her self in the shoes of unferth to sorta assume what unferth emotions are.
