What is a true hero? What is a hero? There are many different ways to describe a hero. A hero could be like Beowulf, an Anglo-Saxon hero, who was: strong, ready to fight battles and die for his country, and does everything for fame and fortune. A hero could also be like Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay politician, who was: a leader, ready to fight oppression against him, and help the LGBT community. Two totally different types of hero’s, but we still look up to both of them. Although we have different definitions of a hero, we can still say that both Beowulf and Harvey Milk are considered heroes.

Beowulf and Harvey Milk both fought monsters. Beowulf fought three monsters throughout the epic Beowulf. He fought the first monster,
